Like, Follow, and Share!! In this short demo I use NuPastels to lay in the basic drawing and set my values. I used Orange for the lights and Blue and Purple for the shadow and dark areas. Alizarine was used for the background as it relates to the pink of the Peonies and will be used in almost all the colors I mix. I paint the pastel with Gamsol and a soft brush starting with the light tones first. It's important to keep your brush clean and not too wet. Once this is completed my roadmap is done and I let it set for about 10-15 minutes while I set out my paints. This is a great way to stay on track and works really well when painting outdoors to keep from chasing the sun and shadows. Email me with any questions.
